Product Information

Pre-orders Now Open for the Spring of 2020!

At Sir James Dunn Academy, we sell only the highest quality plants we produce, at the lowest price. Our plants are grown in the best medium for their needs, and we have worked hard to acclimatize them to Atlantic Canada's regular temperatures.

Local Horticulturalist, James Moore, worked with us this year to enhance our education, and ensure that our products will exceed the expectations of our customers.  Our growing medium is a healthy mixture of peat moss, perlite and vermiculite. This provides a nourished base for the plants, and a great habitat for them to thrive in. We also use a natural growing hormone, Mycorrhizae, to strengthen plant root systems.

Our plants are grown in three to five gallon containers and include slow-release fertilizer. Each plant is sold completely mature, displaying flowers and produce, ensuring maximum yields during the growing season!

Inventory levels will be depleted on a first ordered basis and updated on our website ASAP. All purchases can be picked up at the school on your requested pick-up date.

Overall, we strive to give you the best experience possible. If there are any problems, please feel free to contact us, and we will help in any way we can.

Plant Selection:

Washington Cherry (cherry tomato): $20.00 (mature plant):
First-early determinate red cherry tomato. High-yielding, compact plants. Globe-shaped, 20-25 gm. fruits have a deep red color; thick-walled, meaty, and flavorful, with good keeping quality on or off the vine. Widely adapted. Developed by Washington State University. Determinate.

Sun Gold (cherry tomato): $20.00 (mature plant):
Intense fruity flavor. Exceptionally sweet, bright tangerine-orange cherry tomatoes leave customers begging for more. Vigorous plants start yielding early and bear right through the season. Tendency to split precludes shipping, making these an exclusively fresh-market treat. The taste can't be beat. 15-20 gm. fruits. High resistance to fusarium wilt and tobacco mosaic virus. Indeterminate.

Supersweet 100 (cherry tomato): $20.00 (mature plant):

The classic sweet, red cherry tomato. Supersweet 100 is a reliable cherry tomato with prolific yields of great tasting, 15-20 gm. fruits produced in large clusters. Widely adapted. High resistance to fusarium wilt and verticillium wilt. Indeterminate.

White Cherry (cherry tomato): $20.00 (mature plant):
Appealing, pale yellow cherry tomatoes average 15-20 gm. and have a good, mild taste. Plants are compact and easy to pick. Indeterminate.

Moskvich (full size tomato): $20.00 (mature plant):

One of the most appealing extra-early tomatoes. Fruits are early, deep red, and cold tolerant. Rich flavor. Smooth and globe-shaped. 4-6 oz. Indeterminate.

Thai Chili Pepper (Bird's Eye Chili Pepper): $20.00 (mature plant):
The seeds to these plants were hand picked from an heirloom garden in Thailand. We have been very impressed with the incredibly flavourful chili peppers produced from these plants.
